Pro-Life Vacation Of A Lifetime

If you’ve been considering a vacation in Rome, this may be the year and June may be the time!

Fr. Eugene “Geno” Sylva, S.T.L., S.T.D.

This morning I got to interview Father Eugene “Geno” Sylva, S.T.L., S.T.D., a priest from the Diocese of Patterson, New Jersey, who is now an official with the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization. He wants you to know about a big “Year of Faith” event on Saturday, June 15 in Rome.

Make a pilgrimage to the Tomb of St. Peter; hear a talk by Cardinal Raymond Burke; listen to a panel discussion with Baylor University Professor Francis Beckwith and Faith & Reason Institute President Robert Royal; attend a holy hour led by Archbishop Joseph DiNola; spend time in Eucharistic Adoration; make a confession in one of Rome’s beautiful churches; join in a candlelight procession and prayer vigil down the Via della Conciliazione to Plazza Pio XII; and cap it all off with a Mass celebrated by our Holy Father himself in St. Peter’s Square.

And what will all these talks and devotions be about? The entire day will be a celebration of “Evangelium Vitae,” Pope John Paul II’s encyclical on “The Gospel of Life”! Expect great things!

Fr. Geno says Americans lead the way in pro-life efforts worldwide: “I want the world to see pilgrims from the United States falling out the doors of St. Peter’s.

Sign up at www.annusfidei.va. Click on “Events” at the top of the page and then scroll down to June 15 for details. The conference is free, but you have to register at this site so they know how many people to expect!

I will share more of my conversation with Fr. Geno in an upcoming post! You can hear more about this from Fr. Geno himself by tuning into “EWTN Live” May 8 (tonight!). Meanwhile, please comment below if you think you might be going!
